Description: Ever since its inception, the Department of Translation at the Academy of Graduate Studies has been a venue for staff members, translators and students to exchange their ideas and reflect on their experiences. Translation and interpreting, as new fields of study and research, are making steady progress and development in Libya through academic activities conducted and supported by the Academy. One of the aspects of progress and development is the annual convening of a translation conference where members of the academic staff in translation and languages, translators and
translation students present the outcome of their experience and research.

In this context, the Department of Translation announces that the Fifth Annual Translation Conference will be held on the 19th and the 20th November 2009 at The Academy of Graduate Studies, Tripoli, Libya.

The theme of the fifth conference is: New Horizons in Translation and Interpreting Studies.



Researchers and practitioners interested in sharing their experiences with
fellow researchers and practitioners are invited to submit their abstracts
for participation in this conference.
